„Fredro for Children” exhibition is part of the 7th Literary Traditions Festival. The author of „The Revenge” is one of its patrons, together with a poet Wisława Szymborska. The festival’s mission is to remind about works by authors considered classics and – which often goes hand in hand – read mostly by reluctant students and Polish literature scholars.

Aleksander Fredro is best known as the author of comedies, diaries and fables which are liked by readers of all ages. At the exhibition we present illustrated editions of his books for children – older ones from the interwar period and the Polish People’s Republic, as well as most recent ones – from the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century.

The presentation shows selected works of artists who had an original, discernible style – Jerzy Srokowski, Marian Stachurski, Kazimierz Sichulski, Olga Siemaszko, Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki among others.
