The exhibition presents the events that took place before, during and after the Battle of Grunwald. It introduces visitors to political, economic and military issues. Visitors become acquainted with the parties to the conflict that took part in the battle.
The exhibition, which includes a hall and an exhibition room, is divided into 10 thematic blocks and an introduction:
Introduction – Timeline
The route of the exhibition tour was led chronologically through all thematic sections of the exhibition. Visitors, within individual blocks, have the opportunity to choose stands and issues that are important to them. The designed structure of the interior, consisting of round scenographic walls and exhibition elements, creates smooth transitions and separates elliptical spaces that naturally introduce the tourist to the next threads of the exhibition.
The tour begins in the exhibition hall, at the “Timeline” stand, which is an introduction and summary of the entire exhibition. The stand introduces the time period discussed in the exhibition. The exhibition located in the exhibition hall has been divided into two parts, connected by a passage running between the platforms, on which there is a sculptural arrangement presenting armies attacking each other.
In the first part of the exhibition, visitors are introduced to topics related to the political and economic situation of Poland, Lithuania and the Teutonic Order before the Great War, the relations between the three sides, the declaration of war and the organization of preparations for it. In the second part, they become familiar with the course of the Battle of Grunwald, the situation after the battle, as well as the march to Malbork and the document ending the Great War, the First Peace of Toruń.
This part of the exhibition ends with a section devoted to archaeological relics found in the Fields of Grunwald. The last thematic block is the battle chapel, which is a summary of the visit to the exhibition hall.
The path ends with section no. 10 called "Grunwald Tradition", which was arranged in the exhibition hall. The issues discussed in this block present events aimed at commemorating the Grunwald victory and concern the period from the establishment by Jagiełło of November 15 as the first national holiday, until modern times.
