Pavilion VII – aquatic plants

The central place of the pavilion is occupied by a pool for growing Victoria regia , whose floating leaves, covered with sharp thorns on the underside, grow up to 2 m, and their unusual design and buoyancy make them easily support the weight of a small child. The central place of the pavilion is occupied by a pool for growing Victoria regia , whose floating leaves, covered with sharp thorns on the underside, grow up to 2 m, and their unusual design and buoyancy make them easily support the weight of a small child.

The banks of the reservoir are occupied by numerous representatives of the pandanus genus (Pandanus sp.), plants found in swampy areas of the tropical zone. On the windowsills around the tank, useful plants are presented, such as sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum), wisdom banana (Musa x sapientum) and cultivated banana (Musa nana), Arabic coffee trees (Coffea arabica), cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao) and Arnota (Bixa orellana).

Deserving special attention is the fruiting coconut palm (Cocos nucifera), which is very rare in botanical collections.
