The collection consists mainly of plants representing African flora, with particularly numerous species of spurges and aloes, various caucasus plants, cycads and palms. Noteworthy is the large group of cycads with the oldest plant in the Palm House - the 400-year-old Australian cycad Macrozamia moorei.

One of the most interesting botanical forms of cycads is a specimen of the species Encephalartos laurentianus - the seed of which was brought from nature by Prof. St. Lisowski from the Department of Geobotany, Adam Mickiewicz University.
