Out-of-the-ordinary events turn into myths. This is what happened to Oskar Schindler. By saving the Jews working in his factory, he became a hero. His success was spectacular, because in his limited field he defeated Nazi ideology.
All the places associated with Schindler have acquired a special, almost sacred significance. Schindler’s factory (now MOCAK) and its office building (now the Museum of Krakow) are places that continue to pay homage to his memory.
MOCAK has prepared a publication in Polish, Hebrew, English and German entitled Schindler’s Factory Then and Now, in recognition of the man as a human being and the importance of his achievements. The exhibition presented here is based on the materials that had been collated for this publication.
