Porta Posnania tells the story of the beginnings of the Polish state and the Cathedral Island. There are no museum exhibits here. We present our history in a modern way, with multimedia and light.

Porta Posnania is an accessible and welcoming place. The exhibition is suitable for the elderly, families with small children and people with disabilities. We are inspired not only by the history of the Cathedral Island, but also by the amazing wealth of its nature. Porta Posnania is thus also a meeting place by the river, where you can relax and take a breather.

Porta Posnania is the first center for heritage interpretation in Poland, modelled on similar institutions operating around the world. It serves as a link between the exhibition, which allows the visitors to discover an important historical site, the Cathedral Island in Poznań, directly with the place itself.

The events which the Cathedral Island witnessed played an important role in the history of our country. But Porta Posnania is also a place where one can discover the roots of each of us. Inspired by the past, we create the present and build the future. By visiting Porta Posnania, you also learn about your own history and the fact that #wereathome.
