The Vodka Factory is an unusual museum located within the Fabryczna City complex. It is housed in a historic building of the former Vodka Factory No. 11 built in the 1930s, later the Polmos Distillery. It is a reminder and testimony to the identity of the place. The museum is made up of seven thematic galleries and at the same time seven main stories.
The history presented includes: a presentation of the medieval equipment for distilling booze, a feast in a nobleman's manor, a revolution in distilling together with 19th century industrial equipment for producing vodka, a bar from the period of the Second Republic of Poland, the area in front of the Vodka Factory No. 11 from the 1930s together with a railway siding, an agricultural steam distillery showing a complete technological line, a bottling and loading room for finished products from the 1970s, vodkas from the communist era, a laboratory where vodka recipes were developed - the Polmos Cracow plant until 2010.
The Vodka Factory is almost 1,100 m2 of space to explore, both individually or with a guide. During the hour and a half tour, collections of original exhibits and interactive multimedia stations await you.
You will learn about ancient production methods and recipes, but most importantly you will learn about the importance and place of vodka in the history, culture and economy over the centuries.
As the only museum, not only in Poland but also in the world, we present on such a large scale the story of the production methods of our national liquor - the most recognised Polish product in the world.
