Krupa Art Foundation

Krupa Art Foundation is a new, independent contemporary art institution established by Sylwia and Piotr Krupa – Wrocław-based businesspeople and art collectors. The foundation is a non-profit organisation that proposes a new model for the functioning of cultural institutions in Poland, based primarily on private patronage.

The mission of Krupa Art Foundation is to share art with a wide audience. The Foundation’s programme focuses on promoting contemporary art, with a particular emphasis on the work of artists from Central and Eastern Europe.

KAF’s main seat is located in the Market Square in Wrocław and comprises three floors with several exhibition spaces, an immersive room dedicated to multimedia projects, a children’s corner, an art bookshop and a café.

KAF presents both current art exhibitions featuring Polish and foreign artists as well as selected works from Sylwia and Piotr Krupa’s private collection, which includes works by prominent Polish artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The Foundation’s activities are aimed at creating a safe space for artistic debate, building dialogue between artists and expanding inter-institutional cooperation. Therefore, in addition to exhibitions, KAF conducts numerous educational activities, such as workshops, meetings, lectures and multidisciplinary art projects and programmes, which are carried out in cooperation with partner institutions from both Poland and abroad.

Krupa Art Foundation also has a sister institution, Krupa Gallery, which specialises in the commercial aspect of the art market and cooperation with artists, complementing in this way the Foundation’s activities and bringing the public closer to what is most fascinating in art.
