Tourist route

After passing through the entrance gate to Ogrodzieniec Castle and purchasing an admission ticket at the ticket office, go along the stone path leading towards the upper castle through the extensive outer bailey. On the left we pass an amphitheater and then a group of rocks, including: The Camel, also known as the Duck or the Sphinx . In front there is a reconstructed entrance gate, and to the right there are unusual rock formations integrated into the perimeter walls: the Bear and the Two Sisters. In this group of rocks there is a cave called Męczarnia Warszyckiego, and next to it, in the room of the former guardhouse, there is a modern exhibition - a torture chamber. To get to it, you need to leave the main route and go up.

Continuing along the main route, we cross a wooden footbridge over the so-called a dry moat over which a drawbridge used to be lowered.

In front of us is the gate tower (1) - the main entrance gate to the castle - this is the beginning of the sightseeing route. Through the gate tower we enter the Court of the Lord (2) . From here we can go to the castle's kitchen (3) , where there is a well and so-called the cook's room, and then, returning through the courtyard, go to the high castle (4), climbing the spiral staircase. Continuing the trip, we go back down the same stairs and go to the next room, where there are another stairs leading to the terrace above the well. Next, walking along a modern footbridge over the hen kitchen, we reach the spiral staircase, which takes us to the private rooms of the castle owner - Boner's bedroom (5) and the library (6).

In the library there are stairs leading to the porch and further to the cupboard room (7) , from which you can enter the cupboard tower (8) , the only one open to tourists, and go to the knights' chambers (9) located one level below , currently called the dark and bright.

Then the sightseeing route leads along stairs carved in the rock to Kurza Stopa (10) ; to the third level – currently uncovered. From there, you need to go down a staircase leading to the two lowest levels of Hen's Foot. On the lowest level, it is worth paying attention to the remains of Renaissance frescoes in the corners of the niches.

From Hen's Foot we go out to the farm yard (11) , called Ptasznik. What attracts attention here are the reconstructed wooden cloisters, suspended on the so-called The Curtain Wall, closing the courtyard from the south, after which we climb to the boulevard bastion (12) , the southern defensive corner. From here, the sightseeing route leads to the convicts' tower (13), to the open terrace where one of the representative rooms was once located. From there we go towards the visible stairs leading to the treasury rooms, passing the gate tower just before the stairs (in the gate tower at this level there was once a castle chapel, which was entered from the lord's courtyard, through the porches). We go down the stairs to the former treasury (14) , from where we can now admire a wonderful view of the outer ward, and then we go out onto a footbridge leading to the modern spiral staircase, passing the powder magazine rooms (14) along the way .

The winding staircase takes us to the Lord's Courtyard, where we started the trip. After descending to the courtyard, the tour ends.
